Electric Scooter Rider Dies Days After PA Crash, Coroner Says An electric scooter rider has died more than a week after he lost control and struck his head on a Pennsylvania roadway, authorities announced on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Cory R. Smith, 33, of Allentown, was riding near North 16th and West Liberty streets in Allentown when he crashed around 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 28, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Smith was not wearing a helmet when he struck his head on the roadway, the coroner’s office said.
