PA Inmate Inmate Captured Days After Walking Off PA Work Release Job
An inmate who walked away from his work release job in Cumberland County has been captured, officials announced on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Ryan Varner, 42, was found in Gardners, Adams County, around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
He was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
Varner had been missing since leaving Valk Manufacturing Company at 66 East Main Street in New Kingstown around 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two men were killed in separate shootings in Allentown less than an hour apart Tuesday night, Sept. 29, authorities said.
Mark J. Little, 59, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m. in the 630 block of West Gordon Street, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said. Little died of gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
