She has worked for publications such as Family Circle Magazine, The Ridgewood News, and the Daily Record. Lorraine also has penned two memoirs and teaches memoir writing. Bergen Residents Could Lose Food Assistance Under New Rule ENGLEWOOD, N.J. – Some 200 people in Bergen County stand to lose food assistance under a rule that took effect last month, Englewood hunger advocates say. Able-bodied adults ages 18 to 49, without dependents, can continue to use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program. But only if they work 20 hours a week or spend as much time in a state-approved job training or education program. Old Tappan Woman Fights To Limit Landscaping Noise OLD TAPPAN, N.J. – When Christina Curry-Mai and her family moved to Old Tappan three years ago, they were surprised at how loud their lives had become. “We saw the house in the winter,” said Curry-Mai, a local yoga teacher. “When we moved in, it was the first week of April. It was then we realized how frequently the landscapers are working in Old Tappan.” Especially during the spring and during fall cleanup, she said, landscapers work for hours on end. Ridgewood Rallies For Michael Feeney’s Best Day Ever RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – Jill Feeney, mother of the late Michael Feeney, is hard at work preparing the 3rd Annual Michael Feeney’s Best Day Ever. River Edge Advocate For Unemployed: Keep It Real RIVER EDGE, N.J. – John Fugazzie of River Edge was once perhaps the most famous unemployed man in America. Today he’s employed full time and part time. And he still leads Neighbors-helping-Neighbors, the free job networking club Fugazzie created while unemployed from 2012 to 2014. At first, a group of job hunters met at Fugazzie’s hometown library in 2011. Today the group helps 1,600 people search for jobs at weekly in-person groups and another 4,200 in a LinkedIn group. All Ages Jumping For Joy At Allendale Trampoline Park ALLENDALE, N.J. – Eleven-year-old Yorgos Vassiliou of Franklin Lakes loves trampolining at home -- but at Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Allendale he really ups his game. “There’s a lot of trampolines out there but these ones make you jump higher,” he said. “You can play dodgeball here.
